Sign up your school to join this years' Wild Cats Girls Football Festival.

The Year 3 and 4 Girls Football Festival, part of the Weetabix Wildcats initiative, will run on Tuesday 23rd April 2024, between 9.45-12.30, which will include training sessions and a tournament.

The Festival will be limited to eight schools/teams in squads of ten players.

We were proud to host the Women’s World Cup Festival Day for girls in school years 3 and 4 at the Banbury Plant Hire Community Stadium last year.

The event was part of the Weetabix Wildcats initiative, designed to encourage girls aged 5-11 to get involved with football. Banbury United was able to host the day thanks to funding from the National League Trust.

Three primary schools were represented – Bloxham, Deddington and Hanwell Fields – with 30 girls taking to the pitch.

Guest of honour for the day, attending on behalf of the National League Trust, was Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) representative, Fern Whelan. Fern has had a long professional career playing for Liverpool, Everton and Brighton & Hove Albion. She also played for England at youth and senior level and is now working for the PFA as an Equalities Officer for the Women’s Game.
