Report of AGM of Banbury United Football Club Ltd held on 19th November 2015

The first AGM of Banbury United Community Football Club Ltd was successfully held on 19 November at the Spencer Stadium clubhouse.

Over 80 people, including 64 members, attended the meeting.

It was reported that membership now stands at 251 and over £13,000 of community shares have been purchased.

The AGM saw presentations from the seven members of the interim board, covering the work and progress made within their individual areas of responsibility. Other aspects of developments made in the three months since ownership of the club was transferred were also highlighted. The interim board outlined suggested priorities for the next twelve months and these were approved by the members present. Manager Mike Ford took time out from training to address the meeting = outlining his view on how the team has shaped up and thanking the supporters for their support.

There was also a short presentation regarding progress towards a new ground and a detailed profit & loss report on trading from the takeover on 14 August through to end of October 2015 was made available.

Questions were encouraged throughout the evening and the interim board endeavoured to provide open and honest answers to these.

At the end of the evening the result of the ballot of members for the nine places available on the Board of Directors of the club was announced. There were 146 ballot papers returned and the following were elected.

Our thanks go to the election tellers Roger Graham, who chaired the Election Management Group, and Barry Newbury.

In line with the club’s rules the members of the Board will decide on individual roles to be carried out by those elected.

This was an important milestone for the interim board in engaging with fans and members in an open and transparent way.

Full minutes will be disseminated to all members shortly.
