The board of Banbury United are delighted to announce a stadium naming rights sponsorship agreement with local firm Banbury Plant Hire.

In an initial 3-year deal worth an annual five figure sum to the club, the Spencer Stadium will be re-named The Banbury Plant Hire Community Stadium.

Commenting on the news, Banbury United Commercial Director Mark Allitt said “I’m absolutely delighted we’ve been able to get this deal over the line with Banbury Plant Hire in a historic move for the club. We’re extremely proud of our Banbury Spencer roots, but we’ve found that since becoming a fan owned club the interest from the Banbury business community has soared. The fans took over the club last August and having now won promotion, we want to keep the club moving forward and we felt this was the right deal to help us do that”

Director of Banbury Plant Hire Nathan Matthews was also quick to praise the deal “We’ve been in discussions with Banbury United for the past 6 months and can see that the club is now stable on and off the pitch. We’ve had pitch side advertising with the club for a number of years, but now the club is fan owned we wanted to support it in a much bigger way. They’ve just won promotion and it’s exciting times, so we’ve signed a deal for the next 3 years which shows the fans we’re fully committed to them. Hopefully we’ll be involved beyond the initial term, because from our perspective the club is going places and we want to be associated with it”

Fans will see signage placed around the ground and on all club literature, the club’s website and social media platforms. The news will also be released to all media outlets so that the new stadium name can be used in all reporting of club news and articles. United’s supporters will also be pleased to know that Banbury Plant Hire’s colours are Red and Yellow in keeping with the club’s.

Banbury United Chairman Ronnie Johnson also commented “This is a fabulous eye-catching sponsorship package for both parties, so we’re very grateful to Nathan and everyone at Banbury Plant Hire for making it happen. We can reassure fans that we’ll be looking at someway of incorporating our Spencer roots into an area of the stadium, so that we always remember the history of our great club”
