Biggleswade Town are now an established Southern League Premier Division side, this being their sixth consecutive season at this level. This season has been, thus far, a good one for the Waders with them currently sitting in seventh place, just two points off the play-offs. They will arrive at the Banbury Plant Hire Community Stadium full of confidence after an impressive 1-0 win over league leaders Kettering Town at Langford Road last Saturday, their leading goalscorer for the season Joe White getting the goal which took his tally for the season in League and League Cup games to 16. Earlier this season, back in mid-October, both sides were then in the top seven in the table and the game at Biggleswade finished in a 0-0 stalemate.
For United, though without a win on an opponent’s ground for six months, they did at least win away from the Banbury Plant Hire Community Stadium on Wednesday night when beating Ardley United 1-0 in the semi-final of the Oxfordshire Senior Cup at Kidlington’s ground. The Puritans’ home form though is much better with just one defeat in their last 11 league games and manager Mike Ford will welcome tomorrow’s return to the Stadium after two recent heavy away league defeats at Kettering Town and Tamworth.
