Bracknell Town had much the better of the opening 15 minutes but Banbury defended well under some pressure. At this point though United worked their way into the game and were soon much improved, having the better of proceedings with the pace of Amer Awadh, Anthony Wright and Ben Baker causing problems for the home defenders. It was overall an entertaining first half, with plenty of shots on goal, although none overly troubled the custodians.

It was a much changed United side at the start of the second half but they were soon in front when in the 51st minute a fierce cross from the left by Darius Browne was fired home from just outside the six yard box by Steve Diggin.

On the hour mark United went close to doubling their lead when Jack Finch’s shot from the edge of the penalty area was superbly tipped around the post by the home goalkeeper low down.

However just four minutes later it was 2-0 when excellent passing build up play ended with Amer Awadh setting up Diggin who knocked the ball home from 12 yards.

The final goal would come in the 68th minute when the impressive Browne passed through the centre to Jack Self who calmly slotted the ball home from just inside the penalty area.

Overall, though having to be a little cautious in view that Bracknell will be playing one level lower than Banbury this season, this was a quite impressive performance with United keeping a clean sheet and looking very pacy going forward.
