United entertain Bridgwater Town tomorrow (Saturday) in a Southern League South & West Division game

Bridgwater have been members of the South & West Division since earning promotion from the Western League with a second place finish at the end of season 2006/07. Their first three seasons at the higher level were successful, just missing out on the play-offs in the first two before reaching the play-off final at the end of season 2009/10 though they would lose to Cirencester Town. Since then though it has been much more of struggle with bottom half of the table finishes. This season looks like being no different to recent seasons with the club currently fourth from bottom. They have though shown glimpses of good form this season and notably have a home victory last month over play-off chasing North Leigh to their credit.

We visited their Fairfax Park ground back in August and two goals from Leam Howards and one each from Zac McEachran and a sensational overhead kick from Carl Tappin gave us a 4-1 win that afternoon.

As for ourselves our win last Saturday at Wimborne took our winning league run to four games, having scored 20 goals in those games and conceded just the one. With those four wins from four games being the four games that we played in the month of January, surely we must be in for a shout for the League’s award as the South & West Division team of the month!

United will though be without Mark Bell who is unavailable.
