We will be holding a bucket collection at Saturday's game against Coalville Town for Cancer UK, organised by Ronnie Johnson, Club Ambassador, who explains why:

"My family lost both of our parents ( in a three week period ) 15 years ago to the Big C and I decided to put some effort in on this anniversary for a major, important and fantastic cause! I have raised £300 to date with the sale of a decorative globe ( £50 ) which has adorned my office for a number of years and a £250 donation from my company as a promise for people who travelled with Star in December 2018, to be honest small sacrifices!

I consider myself an optimistic and positive person and look forward to every new year in anticipation of hopefully great things ahead but of course no one knows what is around the corner of life, already a few days into 2019 I have had the news of certain customers starting treatment to beat cancer as well as a number of Banbury residents who have lost the battle!

My sincere heartfelt wishes go out to all who have been touched by this dreadful disease – But there must always be hope and positive thinking in the fight to take cancer out!

I am raising money for Cancer Research UK’s Stand Up To Cancer campaign. The money raised will help breakthroughs in the lab and transform them into treatments and cures for cancer patients who need them right now! 100% of the money raised will go towards speeding up life-saving research. Every day, scientists and researchers work tirelessly to beat cancer! "
