Since August 2015 Banbury United has been owned by it’s supporters who created a Community Benefit Society (CBS) to take over ownership of the club.

Members of the CBS are all jointly owners – membership starts from just £10 per year. Would you like to join us? Last year we had 270 members and our target is 300 this season. If you would like to join please download, complete and return the application form - please click here

In the two years since we became supporters owned the club has gone from strength to strength on and off the pitch and we now have a community club that supporters and the town can be rightly proud of. However, we must not rest on our laurels, we want to push onwards to improve further and thrive in a competitive arena and we need your support to help us achieve that!

Our success has been down to the fans and local community supporting the club both giving time as volunteers and through financial contributions. The club has endeavoured to support the community working with charities and giving more people opportunities to use our facilities

The Club’s objectives are to benefit the community by:

enhancing the social, cultural and economic value of the Club to its Communities and by acting as a responsible custodian of the club for future generations;
upholding the mutual ownership of the Club operating democratically, fairly and transparently;
ensuring the Club operates with financial responsibility enabling the Club to be run for the long term interest of the Community;
providing sporting facilities and opportunities regardless of age, income, ethnicity, gender, disability, sexuality, religious or moral belief; and
playing at the highest level possible, but always operating in a financially responsible and prudent manner.

In addition the CBS offers Community Shares for members interested in supporting the club more. The minimum purchase is £100 but this does not give a greater stake in how the club is run. Our community shares help give the club greater financial reserves and security, can help with cash flow and can help fund capital projects.

With this extra finance generated by our share offer we have had the confidence to spend extra money on ground and pitch maintenance, Clubhouse improvements and the fantastic improvements to our car park which had been a thorn in our side from the outset of our takeover!

A download of the booklet we produced in 2015 when we launched the scheme can be found here and this includes full details of our share offer. An application form for Community Shares can be downloaded here
.
We can’t promise that you will make your fortune from being a part owner of a football club but you will have the satisfaction of being involved with and helping a thriving club that is helping to put the town on the sporting map.
