United entertain Evesham United tomorrow afternoon (Monday) in a Southern League South & West Division game

Both sides will be looking to bounce back from FA Cup disappointments on Saturday, Evesham going down 2-0 away to Chasetown whilst Banbury lost 5-2 away to Combined Counties Premier Division side Hartley Wintney.

Evesham have made a similar start to the current campaign as ourselves having gained seven points, just one less than us, from their first five games.

Evesham have spent five of the last ten seasons at Premier Division level so they are no strangers to the Spencer Stadium. Last season they finished runners-up in the South & West Division but unfortunately that often counts for very little in the play-offs and they lost in the semi-finals to Larkhall Athletic and so remain for this season at Division One level.

We did though meet Evesham last season in the First Qualifying Round of the FA Trophy and as you would expect with a buoyant Division One side up against a struggling Premier Division one the tie was a close affair. The game at Evesham ended 2-2 and Banbury then squeezed through 1-0 with a very late goal in the replay.

One familiar face on the Evesham United management team is that of former United player Mark Boyland who is their Assistant Manager.
