Four more commit to the Puritans for the forthcoming season

Mark Bell, Zac McEachran, Joe Coleman and Callum Convey sign Southern League forms for United for the coming season.


Latest additions to Mike Ford’s squad for the coming Southern League Division One South & West campaign are:

Mark Bell (pictured)

25 year-old wide midfielder who joins the club from Southern League Premier Division side Chesham United for whom he made 47 appearances last season. He was a junior at Oxford United before joining Oxford City, coming through the City Nomads side before establishing himself in the first team. After being part of the City squad that won promotion to Conference North in season2011/12, he left them in the summer of 2012 to play for Bedford Town but returned to Court Place Farm in January 2013. The summer of 2013 saw him have a successful trial with Conference National club Nuneaton Town and he had a three month spell with them before spending the remainder of the season back with Oxford City and then North Leigh. He joined Chesham United prior to the start of last season.

Zac McEachran

20 year-old midfielder who has come through the Oxford City youth development programme to become a regular in the Oxford City Nomads Hellenic League Premier Division side in recent seasons, making 32 appearances for them last season. Has also played for the City side in Conference North and made his first team debut for them back in January 2012 as a 17 year-old. Is the younger brother of Brentford’s Josh.

Joe Coleman

Versatile 24 year-old defender or midfielder who is a former Northampton Town junior who played in the Hellenic League for Hook Norton as well as the Banbury United youth side progressing to make his United first team debut in April 2009. Established himself as a regular in the United first team in season 2009/10 and went on to make 153 appearances for the club, scoring nine goals prior to leaving in the summer of 2012 for Ardley United. Had a spell with Daventry Town at the start of season 2013/14 but injury just a few weeks into the season kept him out of the game for the rest of the season. Had a short spell with Hook Norton last season.

Callum Convey

25 year-old midfielder who came through the Banbury United youth and reserve sides, making his first team debut in November 2011. After a spell with Woodford United he joined Ardley United in February 2013. Was a regular in the Ardley side for the first half of last season but injury forced him to miss the second half of the campaign.
