James leaves the club.

The club can confirm that James Constable will not be returning to the club in 2021-22 season.

James joined The Puritans last summer as Assistant Manager to Andy Whing and also a player making nine appearances in the truncated season. However with a new job, a recent move and a young family he has decided to step away from the club as he feels unable to give the role the commitment it requires.

James said “It’s been a pleasure to work and play for Banbury over the last 12 months, working with Whingy again was an easy decision. Such a shame the season was cut short, but the memories from the FA Cup run will stay with me forever.

I want to take this opportunity to thank all the players and staff, the chairman and directors, the wonderful volunteers and the great Puritans fans. I wish Andy and all the players the best of luck next season and hope it’s another season to remember!

See you all soon. Love JC ️”

Commenting on the news Andy Whing said ‘I would like to thank James for his time at the club. He was an integral part on and off the pitch and will be missed. Also, I had the pleasure of playing alongside James who had a fantastic playing career and wish him and his family all the best in the future.’

Everyone at the club echoes Andy’s best wishes to James. Andy has already started his search for a new assistant.

You can hear more from Andy on Puritans Radio this afternoon, Friday, in an interview with Dave England to be broadcast on Stew Live after 4 pm.
