This is the first season that we have met Rushall Olympic in league action. On the opening day of the season we travelled up to Walsall with the game finishing 1-1. Banbury went in front midway through the first half through a 30-yard spectacular volley from Ravi Shamsi but had to settle for a point when Danny Waldron equalised for the Pics seven minutes from time.

The sides had met twice before though in cup games, both at Banbury. The first was an FA Cup Preliminary Round game in season 1997/98, United won that 3-2. The second was a Southern League Cup game in season 2005/06 when a superb 70th minute 25-yard free-kick from Ady Fuller proved enough to give United a 1-0 win.

Rushall are currently 15th in table, five places below United but only four points behind ourselves with a game in hand. They will be looking to bounce back after a couple of disappointing results over the last two Saturdays, losing at home to league strugglers Hitchin Town and then going down 3-0 at King’s Lynn.

As for ourselves, the 4-1 win over Kettering Town last Saturday had home supporters purring but as manager Mike Ford has said the challenge is to repeat that performance today, something he will be looking for his players to do

It is a special “Footy for a Fiver” promotion today:

Matchday Tickets (pay at turnstile)
£5 – Adult
£5 – Senior Citizens - 60+
£3 – Students (aged 19+, proof required).
Free – 18 and under
Free Gift for all kids

Programme £2.

At today's match there will be a collection for the Thames Valley Air Ambulance Service. As most home supporters will know the air ambulance had to use our pitch to land on the afternoon of the recent game against Lowestoft to attend a serious incident at a nearby industrial unit, causing the game to be delayed by an hour. As many of you will have seen, the air ambulance crew did an excellent job and we are hopeful you will give generously to the collection in aid of this wonderful and invaluable and at times life-saving service.

Away supporters are advised to use OX16 5AB for their Sat-Nav as the club’s official postcode may well take you elsewhere!

It is free to sit in the stand

Hot Food available in the Clubhouse.

Free parking at the ground

The old Chiltern Railway car park on Tramway Industrial Estate is available for use, free of charge. It would be very helpful to the club if local supporters who know their way around were able to use this facility.

Why not have a go on the club’s 50/50 draw! One big prize and this has been around £150 at recent Saturday games – you have to be in it to win it!!

Why not pay a visit to the Club Shop. Some fantastic items which will make great last minute Christmas presents now in stock.
