Banbury United is extremely pleased to announce that Marston’s Brewery have agreed to sponsor the clubhouse which will be renamed “The Spencer”.

Commenting on the deal, Mark Allitt, United’s Commercial Director, said “I’m delighted to have concluded a sponsorship package with Marston’s Brewery after opening negotiations back in February. Marston’s have been our main supplier for some time now, but will now back the club with a cash injection and cost effective stock deal. As supporters will remember, when we decided to rename our Stadium, we pledged we would find a part of the ground to remember our history and heritage as Banbury Spencer and in keeping with that and to highlight our sponsorship with Marston’s, the clubhouse will now be known as “The Spencer”. Fans will see a newly painted clubhouse, with eye catching Marston’s branding placed around it.”

In further good news Banbury United’s car park leading up to the Spencer clubhouse has been completely resurfaced with tarmac and the club have also invested in a complete BT Sports package so fans can enjoy the Premier League games kicking off at 12.45pm and 5.30pm on a Saturday when the club is playing at home. The work has been done with a view to making the clubhouse a more attractive venue for private hire and to give fans a better match day experience.

Charlotte Robertson, Marston’s Business Development Manager for the South Midlands, endorsed the enhanced relationship between the club and Marston’s and said “we’ve been involved with Banbury United for some time now and the club approached us to say that they were looking to get sponsorship and help towards making improvements to the clubhouse. They asked if we would be interested in helping them to enhance the venue, which we saw as a fantastic opportunity. To be involved with a supporter owned club is something new to us and if the venue is used more then it’s good for the club and us too.”

In further news the board are delighted to announce that the main clubhouse room will be renamed “The Dennis and Evelyn Green Suite”. Puritans Radio Manager and United board member Stewart Green has donated considerable funds for the club to upgrade the clubhouse toilets, flooring and furniture and to acknowledge this outstanding contribution, the club will rename the main room in memory of Stewart’s late mother and father who were fans of the club too.
