On a blustery day and bobbly Langford Road pitch that made it difficult for both teams, Banbury were grateful to some squandered chances by the home team to earn at point at unbeaten Biggleswade.

The team was missing Amer Awadh through injury and Jack Self who unavailable. New signing John Mills met up with his new team mates for the first time and started on the bench.

Banbury started the stronger and strung together some passes but didn’t trouble the home keeper.

The home team gradually came into the game and Banbury were grateful when centre forward White headed wide when well placed on 30 minutes. Harding then had to be alert to tip a Forbes cross shot from the right past the post to keep it goalless at half time.

Five minutes into the second period and former Wader Greg Kaziboni carved out Banbury’s best opportunity of the day. A mazy right to left run finished with a shot that just cleared the bar.

However five minutes later the home team should really have taken the lead. Ball got down the right, rounded Harding and passed to Clark about eight yards out and just Charlie Hawtin between him and a goal. However his shot was too close to Hawtin who did well to hack the ball to safety.

Further chances fell to Powell, who shot over and Clark, well saved by Harding on the left hand side of his box.

Banbury introduced John Mills on 60 minutes and he was soon in the action, creating a half chance but shooting straight at the home keeper.

The last fifteen minutes were more even. Diggin and Mills harried the home defence and this allowed Bell a good opportunity on he left but his curling shot lacked power. A free kick on the edge of the box then narrowly eluded Jack Finch at the back post.

At the other end Jack Harding’s handling saved Banbury on a couple of occasions. Johnosn and Henderson did a great job at the heart of he defence until the latter limped off with a groin injury with ten minutes to go and Charlie Wise slotted in well.

The away side certainly happier with a point when the final whistle blew. There wasn't a lot to enjoy for the excellent Banbury following except for the rail crew whose accumulator came up four figure trumps!
