United Manager Mike Ford said, “We are always looking at ways of freshening things up and I thought it would be a good way of the players feeling a real ownership for their shirt. Not many non-league clubs at our level will be doing this and we just wanted to be a little bit different”

With this in mind, the clubs Commercial Team have been looking at this new concept for the club and how the player sponsorship will work this season. United’s Commercial Assistant Warren Bartlett explained “Player sponsorship has proved very popular over the past few seasons and some people sadly missed out sponsoring last season because there was so many people wanting to sponsor! With the new squad numbers coming in, we’ll allocate that player (with his number) to the interested sponsor on a first come first served basis. People however may have a favourite number and so it might not necessarily be the player that’s the attraction. However we are very aware that some ladies have their favourite players! We will also be giving the players away shirt for sponsoring as well and so it gives people more opportunity to sponsor their favourite player. At the end of the season we intend to hold a draw and the sponsor picked out will have the back of their shirt signed by the player and the rest of the squad and management will sign the front, so it will be a fabulous memento for someone to keep. I encourage fans to contact me as soon as possible to register their interest in their favourite player or number – it’s a strictly first come first served basis, but if sponsors want to carry on from last season with their player then they will get priority”

Player Squad Shirt sponsorship is available for £99.99 plus VAT for the 2017-18 season. The management team are still available for sponsorship in the normal way at £74.99 plus VAT.
