There is a long history of games between the two sides going right back to the then Banbury Spencer’s first season in the Birmingham Combination in 1935/36. This season sees the 35th set of league meetings between the sides.

Redditch have made a very good start to their league campaign having 13 points from their six games and are sitting in fifth place with their only defeat having been away to Kettering Town and one would not expect many teams to leave Latimer Park with points this season. Certainly former Puritan Dior Angus has had no trouble finding the back of the net for Redditch this season, having scored six of their 15 goals.

A win for Redditch this evening will take them above Banbury who currently have 15 points in third place whilst Banbury will be looking to bounce back after suffering their first defeat of the season against Frome Town on Saturday
