Tomorrow (Tuesday) Banbury United entertain Redditch United in a Southern League Premier Central Division game 7.45pm kick-off

There is a long history of games between the two sides going right back to the then Banbury Spencer’s first season in the Birmingham Combination in 1935/36. This is the 37th season that we have met Redditch in league games.

After a run of five league games without a win, Redditch United will have been boosted by an impressive 4-1 home win over top half of the table side Needham Market on Saturday. Those three points have moved Redditch up to 17th place with 34 points and three points for them tomorrow will take them above the Puritans who currently occupy 14th place with 36 points.

The Puritans suffered their first home league defeat since October when going down 2-1 to a well organised St Ives Town side on Saturday. But with just one point from their last four league games, and with the recent four point deduction for an ineligible player, Banbury could do with some points to keep them well above the drop zone.
