After making the play-offs last season, going out in the semi-finals to Leamington, Slough have made an excellent start to this season, currently sitting in second place in the table, and though they are six points behind leaders King’s Lynn Town they do have three games in hand on the Norfolk side and look like serious contenders for the Southern League Championship.

Their games in hand on King’s Lynn are primarily down to their progress in the FA Cup where they are one of two clubs, the other being Hereford, from our League to have reached the Second Round Proper. Slough are due to play at home to Rochdale early next month in that Second Round.

Slough arrive this evening at the Banbury Plant Hire Community Stadium in good form, being top of the form table with five wins and a draw from their last six league games, their latest success being a 3-0 win at home to Weymouth on Saturday.

Ravi Shamsi returns to the United squad having completed his three match suspension
