Matt Peake-Pijnen joins the Puritans

19 year-old Matt Peake-Pijnen is joining the club from Oxford City. He is a left footed player that can play at full back, wing back and as a winger.

Matt came through the youth system at Oxford City and progressed to make his first team debut for them towards the end of season 2015/16. He had a loan spell with Southern League Division One side Beaconsfield SYCOB at the start of last season and made 11 appearances for them. On returning to City he would play for the City Nomads side and also for the City first team. He made 12 first team appearances for the Conference South side last season and was also an unused substitute on several occasions. He scored for City in their 3-3 draw at Concord Rangers in mid-January.

Manager Mike Ford commented that the club has a successful track record of developing youngsters into valued members of the team in the two years that he has been at the club and this is another example of a young player that will be given the opportunity to fulfil their potential and will provide important competition for places.
