Matt, a 19 year-old local lad who lives in King’s Sutton and is a former pupil at the Warriner School in Bloxham, came through the Birmingham City academy, progressing to play for their under 18 side and under 23 side. On the completion of his scholarship he was awarded a one year professional deal in the summer of 2017.

Last season Matt gained experience of non-league football with a one month loan spell at Northern Premier League side Mickleover Sports before spending the last three months of the season on loan to another Northern Premier League side Sutton Coldfield Town. He was released by Birmingham City at the end of last season. Matt was with Southern League Division One side Kidlington earlier this season.

All the paperwork for the transfer from Kidlington has been completed and he is now eligible to play for United.
