Manager Mike Ford has confirmed that four new players have agreed to sign for the club for the 2018/19 season:

Felipe Barcelos

26 year-old striker Felipe Barcelos (pictured) returns for a second spell at the club. Felipe was born in Brazil before moving to Oxford at the age of 14, joining Oxford City’s academy and working his way through the ranks, making his first team debut in 2010. He moved to Italy for season 2013/14 playing for ASD Santhia Calcio in Serie D. He returned to Oxford City for season 2014/15, playing for their Conference North side before re-signing for ASC Santhia Calcio ahead of the 2015/16 season. He originally signed for Banbury in January 2016 upon his return to the UK. After making 33 appearances and scoring 18 goals for the Puritans he left the club in September 2016 when moving away from the area to attend university and joined Grantham Town for the remainder of that season. Felipe spent last season with Didcot Town.

Lee Henderson

28 year-old central defender who has been at Oxford City since the summer of 2013 when he joined them from Didcot Town. He was City’s captain last season. He had also previously played for Bicester Town and Witney United and was at Oxford United as a youngster.

Jacob Whitmore

20 year-old right back or wide midfielder who joined Barwell in the summer of 2017 after he had been released by Coventry City. He came through the Sky Blues academy and progressed to earn a one year professional deal with the club.

Eddie Odhiambo

Defender or midfielder Eddie Odhiambo returns to the club for a second spell, though this time in a player/coach role. The 32 year-old Tanzanian began his career as a schoolboy with Oxford United prior to joining Southampton in 2003. He signed professionally for the Saints but didn’t manage to break into their first team and returned to then Conference side Oxford United in the summer of 2006, playing on a regular basis for them over the course of the next two seasons. He moved to Stevenage Borough ahead of the 2008/09 campaign and was part of their FA Trophy winning side that season and of their side that won promotion to the Football League the following season. He then played for Conference sides Newport County and Gateshead before joining Brackley Town in the summer of 2012. After four seasons at St James Park, he had short stints with Oxford City and Kidlington before moving to Banbury in October 2016. He made 34 appearances for the Puritans in the remainder of season 2016/17 before joining Kidlington in a player/coach role in the summer of 2017.

Players Leaving

Tom Winters

Mike Ford has confirmed that he has released winger Tom Winters. Tom joined Banbury, initially on loan from Oxford City in February 2017 before making the move permanent in the summer of 2017. He made 64 appearances for the Puritans through to the end of last season and scored eight goals. Manager Mike Ford commented “It was a very difficult decision to release Tom but as always it has been done with the club’s best interests at heart. Tom has had a very distinguished career at the top end of non-league football and wherever he ends next season up they will be getting a top lad and excellent professional.” Everyone at Banbury United would like to thank Tom for his contributions and commitment in his spell at the club and wish him all the best for the future.

Elliot Sandy

Midfielder Elliot has decided to leave the club. Elliot lives in Northampton and his decision is for family reasons based on the travelling in the South Division we have been placed in. Elliot joined the club in November 2017 and made 33 appearances and scored 11 goals through to the end of last season. We thank Elliot for his contributions and commitment last season and wish him well for the future.
