United will be looking to keep their unbeaten record in all games this season going tomorrow when they entertain St Neots Town in a Southern League Premier Central Division game. Three wins and two draws from their five league games played sees United currently in fifth place in the table though they do have a game in hand on all five teams above them – that game in hand will take place at Bedworth on Tuesday evening.

St Neots have been regular opponents for United in five of the last six seasons, the exception being our one season sojurn in 2015/16 in South & West Division One. The Cambridgeshire side have had the better of the ten meetings, winning five to United’s three with two drawn.

It is early days but St Neots have not made the best of starts to this season, currently down in 17th place with just five points from their six league games played, their one win being a narrow 2-1 home success over bottom club Bedworth United. Nevertheless, they will be buoyed by their 2-1 home win over Bishops Stortford in the First Qualifying Round of the FA Cup last Saturday which they will be hoping will prove to be the catalyst for an upturn in their results.

This week has seen St Neots re-sign former Puritan striker Nabil Shariff. He is thus likely to be making his second visit of the season to the Banbury Plant Hire Community Stadium, having been here previously with Stratford Town on August Bank Holiday Monday.
