The Board of Banbury United are delighted to announce that Stonewater Homes, which provides affordable homes including shared ownership and rent to buy, will be the club’s new Floodlight sponsor until the end of the 2018/19 season. Stonewater Homes is part of leading social housing provider Stonewater which manages around 31,500 affordable homes across the country.

Commenting on the news, Banbury United Commercial Director Mark Allitt said: “I’m delighted that Stonewater Homes will be supporting the club in a brand-new sponsorship deal. Their branding will now be promoted on our floodlights, in the match day programme and on our website. I’m very pleased that we have been able to attract a company that wants to invest and enhance our community.”

Stonewater Homes Sales Executive, Karen Vince, was equally pleased to agree the deal with the club and said: “We’re very happy to be supporting Banbury United. As a responsible housing provider, we are committed to giving something back to the areas in which we build and with the club owned by the community this is the perfect partnership. I look forward to seeing the club progress over the next couple of seasons. Being involved with a supporter-owned club is something really special and I’m delighted we’re working with Banbury United and its supporters at this exciting time.”

Banbury United Vice Chairman Martin Cantrell also commented: “This is another exciting sponsorship deal for the club and we’re really looking forward to seeing our partnership develop with Stonewater Homes over the next couple of years. It’s important we find the right partners in our community to help us move the club forward and in the process, support those businesses as well.”

Stonewater, which owns and supports 350 homes across the Cherwell District, has three affordable housing developments in Banbury and the surrounding area. This includes a new 153-home scheme under construction off Southam Road in Hanwell View and Cherry Fields, where 26 properties have recently been completed. The scheme offers a mix of two- and three-bedroom Stonewater homes for shared ownership, with priority given to those with a connection to the area. The properties start at £90,000 for a 40% share and Stonewater is making a £500 contribution towards carpet costs on some of these homes.

In nearby Deddington village, the affordable housing provider has also just released eight two-bedroom houses and a three-bedroom house for shared ownership, built by David Wilson Homes at Deddington Grange. House prices start from £109,000 for a 40% share.
