Treasurer role and an update on other personnel areas

Dave Wyatt has confirmed he will be standing down from the Board at the Community Benefit Society (CBS) AGM in July. Dave has taken the key role as Treasurer on the Board since our inception and will be greatly missed although he has agreed to assist with some financial roles, if required, next season. The clubs’ financial year runs to the end of May and Dave will oversee arrangements for the end of year accounts for 2018-19 which will be presented to members at the AGM.

The 2019-20 finances will initially be overseen by Paul Duester. Paul is of course a Board member and is, by profession, a retired accountant. In line with its regulations, the rules of the CBS treasurer position is agreed by the Board based on the elected membership of the Board. Once the make-up of the Board is agreed at the AGM we will agree the position of Treasurer.

In addition it should be noted that a number of other groups and volunteers assist Board members. As the scope of the Board’s work has increased it is not possible to manage all of this solely by the Board.

Mark Aliitt’s commercial team includes Warren Bartlett and Kirsty Sims who helps with event promotion. Kevin Healey, who has a wealth of experience in his professional life in sports management has recently agreed to assist Mark too and will be looking at commercial development opportunities.

Martin Cantrell has responsibility for Community football matters, including the work we are doing to set up a Btec football course with Banbury & Bicester College, our plans to employ a Community Coach and offer disability football along with liaison with other sections of the club. Ricky Rea assists him in this area of the club's work.

Our PR & Communications is overseen by the Secretary of the CBS Stephen Barlow and he receives great support from Dave Shadbolt with the website and video and programme assistance and Craig Whittingham and Orion Philips who manage our social media. Julie Hawkins will continue to be the club photographer in 2019-20. Susan Duester also assists Stephen in an Assistant Secretary role and she also is the CBS Membership Secretary.

As previously advised Phil Lines, Chairman works with a Player Pathway group for U14s leading up to the first team. Andy Sinnott (Director of Football) oversees this work which also has Nick Johnson as managing Senior Youth Development and Mark Timms and Ricky Rea administering scouting and recruitment.

There are of course many other volunteers who assist with the running of the club both on matchdays and during the week, including of course the grounds team who maintain the pitch and the ground as a whole. We are grateful to everyone who gives their time freely to help the club run and prosper. However there are always roles and positions to be filled for people wishing to get involved. We will shortly advertise posts we are looking for support with for the coming season
