United have to settle for a point despite dominating most of the game in a most entertaining affair

Banbury's final game of the season saw them put in a very good first half performance at Tiverton albeit there was nothing tangible to show for it. They were soon having the better of the game. They went close in the 26th minute when a cross from the right by Tom Winters saw Leam Howards get up at the far post eight yards out but his header deflected of a defender's head just wide.

Banbury were now dominating the game and went even closer to taking the lead in the 33rd minute when Jordy Ngathe's cross from the right saw Luke Carnell's header at the far post from 10 yards out very well saved low down by Tiverton goalkeeper Liam Armstrong, knocking the ball away for a corner.

Banbury had the ball in the back of the net in the 38th minute but Leam Howards was clearly off-side as he put the ball into the net from close range.

The second half began as the first had finished with Banbury very much on top. In th50th minute a low cross from the left by the impressive Amer Awadh saw a shot from the incoming Charlie Wise lacking the direction to overly trouble the home custodian and the effort was saved.

Five minutes later and Jordy Ngathe let fly with a fierce shot from the edge of the penalty area down the right, the ball going just inches wide of the far post.

To be fair Tiverton came more into the game in the last twenty minutes and with them also looking for a goal to finish the season in style it was a very open game and most entertaining.

Banbury though really should have got the three points when in the 82nd minute Adwah passed low across from the edge of the six yard box down the right but the incoming Stephane Ngamvoulou somehow managed to put the ball over the bar from close range when it looked easier to score.

So the game finished 0-0 but it shows entertainment is not always about goals - a good performance for the fans from the players to complete the season
