United entertained Hinksey on a cold Sunday morning at Horton View. Having lost the opening game of the season (and away to Cumnor last week) in Oxford they were keen to put on a better show. And so it proved as United controlled the game for long periods but Hinksey also contributed to a decent game. Callum Moon opened the scoring from a direct free kick from 25 yards and then Michael Waterhouse scored a second. Shortly before the break Ben Lally scored his first of the season with a lovely low finish after being set free by Jamie Oxley.
United started the second half with the task of keeping a clean sheet, however that wasn't to be the case as Hinksey put themselves back in the game after 46 mins with a well taken goal. However United responded immediately with Callum scoring a second of the game with a decent low finish. The Hinksey keeper was making some excellent saves on his debut for the visitors but he could do nothing as man of the match Ben Fish sealed the win with a sweet finish after being set free by strike partner Dziugas Ringys.
