A super goal nicks it for the Under 10’s

There was a full blooded encounter at Horton View this morning with not much to choose from the Under 10’s and Harwell & Hendred Under 10’s.

Banbury had the better 1st half chances, an early Kai Source shot palmed wide shortly followed by another shot neatly saved from Rowyn Moore by the on form Harwell keeper.

Eleven minutes in saw a breakaway move from Harwell neatly closed down by Banbury keeper Kallum Vaughan to keep the score at 0-0.
Joseph Sparkes had an on target shot saved 15 minutes in and a couple of minutes later after a fine move down the flanks, Liam Piggott found himself in on goal, the shot narrowly wide of its target.

Just before the half time whistle Harwell had another shot narrowly wide, the keeper had it covered.
Harwell began the 2nd half on a much stronger note and 5 minutes in a cross goal shot was again narrowly wide.
With the sides very evenly matched Joseph had another shot just wide of the posts and Max Galloway found his shot saved. Harwell continued to mount pressure with yet another cross goal shot just missing the target.

Banbury also continued to press and with barely 2 minutes of the game left, after picking the ball up out wide, Max Galloway nicked the ball past one Harwell defender and continued to run across goal past another 2 before neatly flicking the ball goalwards past the on rushing keeper – an excellent goal in what was a great performance from all the boys.
