Ardley August 31st - good start for the under 11's

A good contest on Thursday evening in Fritwell saw Ardley of the Oxford Mail U11 A Division take on B Division Banbury in this pre season friendly.

It was decided to play 3 periods of 20 minutes.

The teams were fairly well matched, Ardley taking the lead early on and Banbury pulling level towards the end of the first period.
Ardley again got their noses in front with a well taken free kick the keeper couldn’t reach at the start of the 2nd period, Banbury again though fairly soon after pulled level. Banbury kept the pressure on to take the lead towards the end of the 2nd period.

Banbury extended that lead to 4-2 halfway through the 3rd period, Ardley showing resilience to pull one back but towards the end it was Banbury who ran out 5-3 winners with a fine free kick of their own.
