Another good performance from Under 11 United

On a cold brisk winters morning Banbury United Under 11s did very well against a good Ardley side. With barely 3 minutes on the clock Filip Wójcik was very unlucky as his shot hit the post and was ruled not over the line by the officials. Two minutes later Luke Penfold hit a cross from the right hand side which the Ardley keeper spilled to a grateful Rowyn Moore to put Banbury into the lead. There were very few more opportunities at goal for either side in a competitive 1st half, Filip again coming close in the 29th minute with a shot narrowly wide.

Banbury got onto the front foot again in the 2nd half, Liam Piggott swung in an excellent corner in the 32nd minute, met by Filip whose shot was saved onto the post. Ardley struggled to clear and Edward Leney hit a fine effort to make it 0-2.
Banbury continued to press and in the 40th minute Edward crossed a great ball to Max Galloway who neatly sidefoot finished to make it 0-3. The boys were now playing with confidence and Cole Relton played a fantastic ball across in the 47th minute to Max whose clever header was narrowly wide with the keeper beaten. Banbury broke upfield in the 50th minute and a great ball from Rowyn was played into Cole’s path who hit it 1st time for Banbury’s 4th.

Ardley came close to scoring in the 56th minute as they hit the post but this was a comfortable victory for Banbury at the end, Ardley U11 0 Banbury Utd U11 4.
