Banbury United Women 0 Tilehurst Panthers 6 - Sunday 12th February 2023 Tilehurst Panthers moved into second place in Division 1 of the Thames Valley Counties Women’s League with this win over Banbury United It was a first half to forget for United, finding themselves, through primarily defensive frailties, on the wrong end of a half time 5-0 scoreline. However, after the break Banbury looked the proverbial “different side” and competed with great determination and a never give up attitude against the league high-flyers, some committed defending and some good goalkeeping saves meant Tilehurst had to wait until the 83rd minute to notch their sixth and final goal. As has been demonstrated all season, United are competing in at least a division too high for this side, leading to some heavy defeats but on this afternoon they can at least take away positives from this second half showing.
