A Puritan fan from half way round the World!!!

A Puritan fan from half way round the World!!!

David Shadbolt22 Sep 2015 - 16:31

A welcome face at the Spencer stadium on Saturday was John Brambley visiting from Perth Australia.

Having left England in 1970 John has remained a loyal United fan during the last 45 years and tunes in to local radio website broadcasts to keep in touch with the team, being especially pleased that we now have our very own Puritans Radio for him to remain up to date with the new community club!

Whilst in Banbury John lived in Crouch Street, his father Arthur Brambley was the optician in Batemans chemist in the market place for many years and John worked at Kinghams wholesalers near to The Spencer Stadium! He remembers fondly the players wearing the United shirt prior to his departure to Aussie, Tony Jacques, Tony Foster, Pete Svenson and Jim Cassidy to name a few! Mind you he must have been impressed with our 8-0 victory against Bashley before he commenced his long journey home!

A loyal fan from around the world we certainly look forward to meeting again in the future!
