Players, officials and spectators celebrated the life of local referee, Andrew Raisbeck, with a minute’s applause before the start of last night's Southern League Premier Central fixture v Kettering Town.

Banbury United and Banbury United Youth were saddened to learn of Andrew’s passing last month. Andrew dedicated many weekends in all weathers for over 10 years, officiating youth matches for Banbury United and other clubs in the town. He also worked with the Oxfordshire FA on behaviour improvement, something he was very passionate about. He served our game with professionalism and integrity, benefitting hundreds of children in Banbury.

It was a pleasure to host Andrew's family last night, including his two sons who are pursuing careers in football and sport.
