Tonight's pre-season game at the Spencer Stadium saw a number of trialists given a start in the Banbury United side.
United went ahead as early as the third minute through Adeyinka Talabi. Ardley equalised on 16 minutes before two goals in the final five minutes of the first half from firstly a Josh O'Grady free-kick and then from an Adam Confue header from an O'Grady cross gave Banbury a 3-1 half time lead.
Ardley reduced the deficit from the penalty spot three minutes into the second half and were level at 3-3 five minutes later.
Ryan Howell put Banbury back in front after 64 minutes but the visitors were level once more seconds later.
The winning goal came from a Ben Polk strike on 72 minutes which made the final score 5-4.
