Banbury United has been working with Banbury & Bicester College and Activate Learning since the 2020 academic year to deliver elements of its Sport Level 2 and 3 courses. The students become part of our Banbury United Academy, which complements and offers practical opportunities for them to develop knowledge in a range of sports science topics as well as coaching and playing skills. These are great courses designed to help students pursue a career in football or sport.
Applications are now open for September 2024 for the one-year full-time Sport Level 2 Course First Certification (Banbury United FC) and the two-year full-time Sport Level 3 National Extended Diploma (optional with Banbury FC).
The college is holding an open day on Wednesday October 11th at its Broughton Road, Banbury campus. In addition, prospective students for the Banbury United Academy who would like to talk to the sports tutor and Banbury United’s coaching team and see the facilities on offer can visit us at the Banbury Plant Hire Community Stadium between 4.30-7.30pm on the same day. We have plenty of parking at the ground on Station Approach and look forward to meeting students and their families.
For more details and to register on Eventbrite, please visit this webpage: https://banbury.activatelearning.ac.uk/events/detail/banbury-and-bicester-college-october-open-event/. Please direct any queries to the college.
If you can’t make this event, please note that there is another open day on November 11th 2023, where you can visit the Club.
Fun fact: if you see sporty young people walking around Banbury, kitted out in Banbury United sports gear on a weekday, they are very unlikely to be our first team players as you might at first think – you are looking at our Banbury United Academy students!
Also, despite the image above, we do have female students and would love to see more apply!
