The special event will take place on Friday 6th October at Banbury United's stadium.
Concept Events, owned by former Banbury United goalkeeper Kevin Baker answered an appeal from his old club to support its fundraising campaign with proceeds from ticket sales contributing to the running costs of the second season in The National League North.
Guests will be treated to a live Q&A with Thompson, who won multiple honours for Liverpool in the 70s and 80s and was capped 42 times for England. The event will be hosted by stand-up comedian Steve Broadbent.
The venue has a fully licensed bar and will be holding a prize raffle, auction and a pop-up memorabilia shop on the night.
Ronnie Johnson, Chairman of Banbury United FC, said: “We are honoured to be hosting a Liverpool legend, Phil Thompson for what promises to be another fantastic evening of entertainment at the club.
“On behalf of Banbury United, I would like to thank Concept Events for their support and generosity. These sporting events are always entertaining nights to remember and we’re looking forward to it.
“It’s a great opportunity to have a good evening out and raise money towards our ongoing costs competing at level 2 of the football pyramid. I’d encourage supporters and friends of Banbury United to purchase a ticket if they can.”
Kevin Baker, Director of Concept Events, said: “We have hosted many events at Banbury United and when Ronnie asked if we could help the club with some fundraising, we felt it was right to do what we could to lend a hand.
"We’re community spirited and proud to be able to share the proceeds from the evening equally with the club and we hope it will generate some vital funds.
“It is all geared up to be another fantastic evening and a great chance for people to meet another sporting legend in Banbury and support their local club.”
The event will start at 7pm.
