Banbury United Women opened their new season with a trip to the well-attended summer tournament hosted by Wantage Town Women on Sunday 25th June along with 30 other teams.
Banbury had a good day in the sunshine as their preparations for the coming season began:

Knockout stage:
L 0 – 2 v Abingdon United
The only two teams to win against Banbury – Abingdon United and Eversley & California – played out the day’s final, with Abingdon becoming the eventual winners.

Players wanted as preseason training gets underway
After a get-together last week to prepare for the Wantage Town Women’s tournament at the weekend, Banbury United Women start their preseason training tonight (Wednesday) at St John’s School on Cherwell Heights.
The team will compete in the Thames Valley Counties Women’s Football League for the 2023-24 season.
Training starts at 7.30pm where the team will be put through their paces to ensure they’re ready for the forthcoming season.
Manager Mark Andrews said, “Last season was all about rebuilding and creating a positive platform. We succeeded in showing significant improvement across last season and finished strong. This was testament to the hard work, enthusiasm and commitment of our players after what had been a difficult start.
“We’re recruiting for new players currently and urge anyone who’d like to join us, to get in touch. We offer a friendly, sociable, ambitious and competitive team environment with the backing of a major football club in the region.”
