Stephen Barlow has made the decision to resign from the Board of Directors of the club.
Stephen was part of the group who took the club into supporters ownership in 2015 and he has been on the Board since that time.
Chairman Ronnie Johnson said
“I would like to thank Steve for his commitment and effort over the past years and for his involvement from the outset of the Community Benefit Society eight years ago when we took on the club at a low ebb, relegated, with financial problems and the need to be resurrected.
This season has undoubtedly been a renewed challenge and the commitment required by all board members and indeed volunteers has been enormous. Steve has played an integral part with secretarial duties and match ops, his break away from board meetings and ongoing commitments will allow him extra free time. I am pleased that he will be remaining involved in certain areas of the club as a volunteer away from board duties for the foreseeable future.”
Commenting on his decision Stephen said
“I am very proud of what the club has achieved since becoming fan owned eight seasons ago and thank everyone who has contributed to our progress to date. Reaching and playing in National League North is a fantastic achievement, but also a great commitment and one that has become increasingly challenging for me.
There are important times ahead for the club and I hope all fans will offer their support where possible and get behind the Board in the weeks and months ahead to enable the club to continue to thrive and grow.”
Stephen will continue to support the Board in his matchday roles for the club this season.
