Changes to the Board of Directors

Changes to the Board of Directors

. Banbury United4 May - 08:34

We are pleased to announce two new additions to Banbury United’s Board of Directors.

Following our recent appeal for new board members, Garry Craft and Tom McElroy were co-opted to the Board earlier this week. Both will be presented to members for formal election at our AGM later this year.

Garry, who lives in Bloxham and is an Oxford United supporter, brings over 30 years’ experience across managing director, marketing, sales, and franchise operations roles. His background spans retail, pharmacy, leisure, and manufacturing sectors, including extensive time operating at Board level. Garry will focus on leading the Club’s commercial and marketing activities.

Tom, based in Bicester, is a Chartered Accountant (FCA) and Treasury professional (ACMT) with 15 years’ experience in UK banking. His expertise includes funding, liquidity, structured finance, and regulatory oversight. Tom has already begun taking a hands-on approach at the Club and will assume the role of Treasurer, subject to transition.

As part of these changes, current Treasurer Martin Jopp will move into a role supporting the first team, matchday operations, and responsibilities previously overseen in relation to the Club’s ground.

Alongside these appointments, we also announce that Ryan Duggleby has stepped down from the Board due to a conflict of interest arising from a change in his professional role outside the Club. We are pleased to confirm that Ryan will continue to volunteer in a leadership capacity, maintaining oversight of matters relating to the Club’s ground. His commitment to Banbury United and passion for the Club remain unchanged.

We warmly welcome Garry and Tom to the Board and thank Ryan for his continued contribution. Further background information on both new directors will be shared as part of the AGM election materials.
