Banbury United and its supporters have assisted local funeral home and longstanding club sponsor, Humphris Funerals, with the collection of 150 of a total of 331 Easter eggs for local charity, Let’s Play.
Let’s Play provides after-school clubs, holiday activities and youth groups for young people aged 5-25 with additional needs in the Banbury area. Humphris Funerals, whose funeral home is on Albert Street, Banbury, came up with the idea and Banbury United was keen to assist, offering the clubhouse bar as a drop-off point for people wishing to donate.
In addition to the 50 eggs donated by individuals, Reg’s Catering, which supplies catering services to Banbury United FC, provided an additional 100 eggs! Among other Banbury United-supporting business, Chipping Norton Builders also donated a number of eggs directly to Humphris Funerals.
Banbury United Chairman, Ronnie Johnson, said, “What a great effort by Humphris Funerals, along with Reg’s Catering, to bring the joy of chocolate Easter eggs to Let’s Play’s youngsters. We are a football family and delighted to club together to do what we can for the local community.”
