Within the month of June, seven volunteers and Banbury United fans came together to move a lot more than usual, for the #KHHPaceAroundTheWorld team challenge. This was in memory of our volunteer, Simon Pearce, who received the very best end of life care from our local hospice.
We achieved 2,430,512 steps between us and finished 6th out of 13 teams in terms of distance travelled. Importantly, we raised around £500, contributing to the just under £10,000 that has been raised overall so far.
The challenge’s 107 participants managed to get 41% around the world. So, there is unfinished business and if anyone would like to join our team next year, do get in touch.
Finally, a big shout out to our most active team member, Roger, who smashed through his personal target of 500,000 steps with over a day to go. Roger turned 80 in May and clocked up many of those steps while helping to maintain the ground at The Spencer Stadium.
There is still time to make a donation to our Just Giving page: https://lnkd.in/eyhBgGyF. A massive thank you to everyone who has contributed.
