The Spencer clubhouse is becoming a venue for all types of musical entertainment and we are delighted to confirm that the place will be swinging when the The Great Central Big Band play on Saturday 26 January.
The Great Central Big Band is an eclectic group of local musicians who are single-handedly introducing a new generation to the sounds of a bygone era.
The band is led by drummer Lee Smith and consists of 23 people which includes everything from trombonists and trumpeters to vocalists and percussionists.
The band bring a mixture of hot swing and sepia tones, playing both classic swing arrangements from the 40s and original material featuring jazz piano legend Mike Kemp and powerful vocals from Chris Filbey and Natasha Thompson. An evening with the Band is always one to remember.
Tickets are £10 and available in advance from the band’s website www.greatcentralbigband.co.uk
