Banbury dominated the early stages without being able to create clear openings. As the half developed Frome began to work their way into the game and by the end of the period were on top. Nevertheless both sets of defences were to the fore, neither side looking likely to break the other down with no chances of note able to be created.

The second half followed a similar pattern to the first. Banbury's best effort came in the 70th minute when Adeyinka Talabi did well to turn and make room for a shot just outside the penalty area on the right but his curling shot went just the wrong side of the far post.

Banbury had a good final 15 minutes looking for the winner but despite some pressure were still unable to find a way through a solid Frome defence.
