A reminder about working parties at the ground this weekend

The new home changing room is emerging from clouds of dust, concrete and rubble with a rich red colour on the walls (chosen by the manager “to motivate the players”) and a new bench is under construction for the new changing room layout. All the changing rooms toilets have been repaired and secured and the floor will probably need another half dozen cleanings. At least the players should appreciate the new showers as the new season rapidly approaches.

The Grounds contractor has been to “feed and weed” spray the pitch which should see a real spurt in the grass growth and even found time to “professionally” treat the weeds around the Stadium making the task this weekend for volunteers perhaps a little easier. New advertising boards are going up around the ground as new advertisers show their support for the club.

NEW Volunteers at the weekend will be more than welcome – there is still so much to do and time is running out! The ground team are asking supporters to volunteer and help on Saturday 6th July, 9.00 am to 12.00 noon and Sunday 7th July between the same times. One of the main tasks is remove weeds and growth from the terracing. So if you can attend please bring gloves, hoes and spades, forks and shears. Refreshments will be provided and it will be a chance to chat about the forthcoming season.

The club are very fortunate to have a dedicated team of volunteers who help make the ground somewhere we can be proud of. It would be great if other supporters were able to spare a couple of hours to help them ensure the Stadium is looking at its best for 2019-20.

Pictures show Grounds Contractor treating the weeds, Paul Williams and Roger Davis working on the new bench and Pete English attending to one of the toilets, and the “new” red and white laminate board walls.
