It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of Dave Pearce.
Dave’s unwavering support for the Puritans spanned decades. Since the late 1960s, he followed the team home and away, giving his time generously in countless roles. From kitman, matchday PA announcer, to co-host on Puritans Radio - where he brought colour and character to every broadcast.
In recent years, he submitted our match reports to the Non-League Paper, ensuring Banbury United’s story was always told with care, pride and passion.
Dave's commitment extended beyond the men’s game. Alongside his son Simon, Dave became a devoted supporter of our women’s teams, travelling the country without missing a single match. He wrote thoughtful match reports and offered encouragement and kindness that meant the world to players and staff alike. His presence on the sidelines was always warmly felt.
From laughter-filled car journeys to thoughtful post-match reflections, Dave brought joy, generosity, and a quiet strength that lifted everyone around him at Banbury. His legacy lives on not just in the words he wrote or the matches he attended, but in the spirit of community he so naturally embodied.
From everyone at Banbury United - thank you, Dave, for the miles, the memories, and your unwavering support. You will be deeply missed.
Our thoughts are with Dave’s family and friends at this difficult time.
