Banbury United FC has, since 2015, been run by Banbury United Community Benefit Society, which is owned by its supporters. The Club enjoyed a strong first ever season in the Vanarama National League North in 2022-23. We are looking for a new First Team Manager to cement the Club’s position in Step Two football and propel our performance to an even higher level.
The objectives of the Community Benefit Society are to:
enhance the social, cultural and economic value of the Club to its communities and by acting as a responsible custodian of the Club for future generations;
uphold the mutual ownership of the Club operating democratically, fairly and transparently;
ensure the Club operates with financial responsibility enabling the Club to be run for the long-term interest of the community;
provide sporting facilities and opportunities regardless of age, income, ethnicity, gender, disability, sexuality, religious or moral belief; and
play at the highest level possible, but always operating in a financially responsible and prudent manner.
We are interested to receive applications from candidates who possess:
Ideally, management of a football club at National League level or higher, but other levels considered.
A proven track record of securing results.
Experience of developing winning teams as well as helping, supporting and developing players.
UEFA A licence minimum
FA qualifications, including FA Safeguarding Certificate (essential), FA Emergency Aid Certificate (desirable), FA DBS Check (essential).
Excellent communication and social skills, both on and off the field.
Contacts within the football community and knowledge of transfers and player availability.
Experience on managing a playing budget.
Ability to analyse team and player performance.
Maintain a high level of training sessions.
High level of communication, presentation skills and social skills.
An open-mind towards using new and developing ideas that can improve current recruitment and talent identification practices.
Competence with the use of IT and IT based systems.
Full Driving Licence and access to a car
Must be based in the UK and prove that you have the right to work in the UK
The role is based at the Banbury Plant Hire Community Stadium, Station Approach, Banbury OX15 5TA in North Oxfordshire.
Banbury United Community Benefit Society is managed by a Board of Directors elected annually by its members. The postholder will report to the Board via a designated Board member.
