The Puritans
Kelvin Langmead's side head into the weekend looking to find consistency after a mixed run of results. A 3-2 home victory over Stamford last Saturday offered encouragement, but the Puritans were brought back down to earth three days later, suffering a 4-2 defeat away at Peterborough Sports. That followed a 2-3 loss to Stratford Town and a goalless draw at Worcester City, leaving Banbury with plenty of work to do to climb the table.
Langmead faces a potential selection headache at the back, with right-back Harrison Mole suspended following his sending-off against Peterborough Sports. While captain Yaw Ofosu also suffered a hamstring problem on his return from a lengthy absence.
The possible absence of both defenders could force Langmead into reshuffling his backline against one of the division's most dangerous attacks. Saturday will prove a tough challenge against a Bromsgrove side that has collected eight wins from their opening 11 league matches.
The Rouslers
Bromsgrove Sporting are managed by experienced former England international goalkeeper Tim Flowers, who is assisted by Leon Broadhurst. Flowers, who won the Premier League title with Blackburn Rovers in 1995–96 and earned 11 England caps, returned to the Rouslers in December 2025 after spells in charge of Alvechurch and other non-league clubs.
Flowers will be looking to guide Bromsgrove towards a promotion challenge this season, with his side making an impressive start to their Southern League Premier Central campaign. The Rouslers have shown consistency in recent weeks, including a 3-2 victory away at Stratford Town and a 1-1 draw with league leaders Real Bedford. Their latest league results demonstrate the challenge facing Kelvin Langmead's Puritans on Saturday.
With Flowers bringing considerable experience as both a player and manager, Bromsgrove will be hoping to use their home advantage to maintain their momentum and put further pressure on the teams above them.
Previous Meetings
Recent encounters between the sides have been evenly contested.
Bromsgrove claimed a convincing 3-0 home victory in September 2025, but Banbury responded in emphatic fashion two months later, recording a 3-0 win of their own at the Spencer Stadium in November 2025.
The Puritans also enjoyed success on their previous visit to Bromsgrove in March 2025, winning 2-1, while the sides played out a goalless draw in October 2024.
