Kelvin Langmead's side will be looking to build on recent league performances and make home advantage count as they enter another important week of the campaign.
The Puritans
United head into Tuesday night's encounter having most recently faced Worcester in September, when the two sides played out a goalless draw at Sixways Stadium. The Puritans will now be hoping to find the breakthrough on home soil and claim three valuable points.
Banbury have shown signs of improvement in recent weeks, with a 3-2 victory over Stamford and a 1-0 win against Leighton Town providing encouragement. However, a 1-0 defeat away at Bourne Town in the FA Trophy on Saturday will leave Langmead's men eager to respond.
Speaking to Puritans Radio, Langmead felt that United were too slow out of the blocks which ultimately cost them their place in this season's competition. United have been dealt a further blow as Josh Smile had to exit the pitch in the first half due to an apparent hamstring injury.
Langmead expects a tough test against Worcester City on Tuesday night, who themselves have had an enjoyable cup run.
With fixtures coming thick and fast, the Banbury boss will be looking for consistency from his side as they aim to climb the league table. The squad has shown its quality at various points this season, but turning encouraging performances into regular points will be crucial as the campaign progresses.
Tuesday's fixture offers the Puritans an immediate opportunity to respond in front of their home supporters. With another demanding league schedule ahead, a positive result against Worcester could provide a timely boost.
The Blues
Worcester City make the trip to North Oxfordshire looking to improve on a difficult run of results.
Their previous meeting with Banbury ended in a 0-0 draw at Sixways in September, with neither side able to find the decisive goal. Worcester will take encouragement from that defensive performance, although they will need to offer more going forward if they are to leave the TUGO Community Stadium with all three points.
The visitors' recent results have included a 2-0 defeat at home to Leek Town in the FA Trophy, while their league form has also proved challenging. They will therefore arrive in Banbury with plenty to prove and will be keen to put those setbacks behind them.
Despite sitting in the relegation zone coming into the game, Chris Cornes men have had a fantastic FA Cup run and have set up an away tie against league side Colchester United in the First Round Proper. It follows a hard fought, dramatic two ties home and away to National League North side Chorley. A 93rd minute equaliser by Josh Ezewele set up a replay at Sixways where neither side could break the deadlock until a Luke Rowe wonder-goal in the 89th minute sent Worcester through.
For the Puritans, the challenge will be to remain disciplined and take advantage of their opportunities against opponents who will be equally determined to secure a positive result.
Previous Meetings
The two sides have already met once this season, with September's encounter at Sixways ending in a 0-0 stalemate.
Last season's corresponding fixture in Worcester also saw Banbury claim a 1-0 victory, while the meeting at the Spencer Stadium in August 2025 ended in a 1-1 draw.
