Match Preview: Banbury United v Gloucester City AFC

. Banbury United31 Jul - 09:15

Footy for a Fiver (£5), as The Puritans welcome The Tigers the Spencer Stadium, powered by egg.

Pre-season continues as we welcome Gloucester City on Saturday 2nd August 2025 (KO 15:00).

Kelvin Langmead’s side will be looking to build on a strong midweek display and gain more sharpness and cohesion against the Southern Premier League South opponents.

We’re welcoming everyone down to the Spencer Stadium, powered by egg, and we’re sticking with our popular "Footy for a Fiver" offer - All tickets just £5 - while U18s and 2025/26 Season Ticket Holders go FREE.

Recent Form
The Puritans:

  • Banbury United 10-0 Chadlington FC
  • Banbury United 0-4 Solihull Moors
  • Easington Sports 0-1 Banbury United

The Tigers:

  • Gloucester City 2-1 Worcester City
  • Gloucester City 1-1 Oxford City
  • Gloucester City 1-2 Barry Town United

After a dominant win over Chadlington and a gritty victory away at Easington Sports, Banbury will be aiming to keep the momentum going and tighten up after a tough outing against Solihull Moors. Gloucester, under new manager Dafydd Williams, arrive at the Spencer following a mixed set of pre-season results, including a narrow defeat to Barry Town and a well-earned draw with Oxford City.

The last meeting between the two sides at the Spencer came back in January 2024, when the Tigers edged a 2–1 win. Langmead’s side will be looking to set the record straight this time around.
