Match Preview: Banbury United vs Hitchin Town

. Banbury United31 Oct 2024 - 12:26

The Puritans face The Canaries on Saturday 2nd November 2024, KO 3pm.

The Puritans are back in action this Saturday at The Banbury Plant Hire Community Stadium after having a ten-day break following their 2-0 victory against Biggleswade Town.

Simon Hollyhead ahead of the game commented: “At our last home game 18 days ago, we were all delighted with the result against Bedford given their attacking prowess.

Four days later at Spalding, whilst we were aggrieved at some of the decisions against us, the players took ownership of the situation and accepted that our levels of resilience and aptitude weren’t aligned to our targets for the season.

And it was evident at Biggleswade that the players showed a reaction rather than discussing the reaction we wanted.

As we continue to shape our backroom staff and 20-man squad to maximise the balance and quality, we are fully focused on the next part of our season.”

Hitchin Town come into this game looking to get more points on the board as they sit in 21st with one win in their last five.

With their most recent league game being a 5-2 loss to Lowestoft Town at home on Tuesday 22nd October.
