Match Preview: Plymouth Parkway vs Banbury United

. Banbury United3 Oct 2024 - 09:11

Our FA Trophy journey begins

The Puritans face Plymouth Parkway on the road this Saturday October 5th in the Third Round Qualifying of the Isuzu FA Trophy, kick-off 3pm.

Banbury United will travel a 380-mile round trip to the south to kick-off its FA Trophy campaign. We wish all travelling fans a safe journey - we know it will make a huge difference to the boys to have you there.

Having had last weekend off and no match since September 24th, Simon Hollyhead’s rested side looks to return to winning ways and get their FA trophy campaign up and running in great fashion.

They face a Plymouth Parkway side, who also play at Step 3, that have been struggling to find their feet in the league this season. The opposition is winless in their nine league matches this season, having picked up three points which see them currently sitting 21st in the table.

Simon Hollyhead has viewed the game as: “An opportunity to impart our style on the opposition and hopefully progress to the next round.”

Captain Yaw Ofosu will miss the south coast adventure due to a one match suspension following our local derby match against Stratford Town in the Pitching In Southern League Premier Central. He joins George Ball who is serving the last of his three-match suspension. On the plus-side, Gift Mussa, Nico Jones and Kgosi Ntlhe could be contention for returning from injury for Saturday’s match.

Ramello Mitchell has departed the Club by mutual consent. There will be a new player announcement later this week.
